About The Crossroads Traveler Blog

Life at the Crossroads…

I started The Crossroads Traveler because I couldn’t find a lot of travel bloggers writing from the perspective of a Gen X-er. Millenials traveling on a shoestring budget? Yes. But the range of the Gen X age spectrum (now from late 30s to mid-50’s)? Not so much.

As my website tagline reads, this blog is for those at a crossroads– and for those who like to cross roads– a literal and figurative tagline. And just to put it out there— I do not accept free trips or anything in exchange for positive reviews. My impressions- good, bad, indifferent– are all mine.

Party Like a Viking…

Once you reach a certain age, you realize that you won’t always feel invincible– you realize that Life can (and does) throw you curve balls you never saw coming. I can recite countless examples of people who were thrown curve balls (and so you could you, I bet) but I prefer the wise words of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in Sisters. Can it be said any better? You want to do something? Do it now.

So this is my niche: Travel for Generation X (Gen Xers). Maybe you aren’t flush with cash, but you prefer a private bathroom with your sleeping accommodations. Perhaps your kids are grown? Or you have some vacation time saved up? And maybe you are like me and just don’t want to spend all your time sitting a desk.

This blog is for you. So come on…

It’s Time to Cross Roads…
