About Me

My parents instilled a love of travel in me. Even though we traveled to the same Rhode Island town every summer, the trip back to Western New York (think Buffalo area) would often turn into a long and winding road. Our route back included diversions to the Catskills, Vermont, New Hampshire,… even Ottawa, Canada (which, if you know your geography, is nowhere near Western New York State – or Rhode Island for that matter). One time, we were gone so long that our neighbor nearly called the police because we were five days past our return date. We showed up before the APB was put out.

My first real trip abroad…

During my senior year of high school, I visited Wales, UK for a one month exchange program. I attended school for a couple of days, but our group’s “schooling” became anywhere and everywhere we could travel: London, Edinburgh, Paris. We packed as much as we could into four weeks. I was changed forever. All I wanted to do was travel…

And now…

Steven and I in Rome- 2016

My husband, Steven, have been married for twenty-five years and have two children, ages eighteen and twenty. I am an amateur beekeeper, and love reading, writing, baking, and of course… travel. We took our first child on a trip when he was just six weeks old! When our children were old enough to handle longer flights, we traveled to London, France, and Italy– and they both learned to pack only what would fit in a carry on.

In my spare time, I dream about my next trip…
